(Christian unity in the Holy Spirit is something the Church must rediscover today)

–There Is a Connection Deeper Than Blood
We often hear the saying, “blood is thicker than water.”
It is used to describe the deep connection between biological family—brothers and sisters who share the same DNA. And that is true. That connection matters, and it is right to give it meaning, because God Himself designed it.
But there is a deeper truth many people overlook.
There is a connection stronger than blood…
a bond deeper than biological DNA…
The spiritual DNA of the Holy Spirit.
–Born Again: Not of Flesh, but of God
As Christians, we are called born again.
This is not just a religious phrase—it is a spiritual reality.
John 1:12–13 says:
“Yet to all who did receive him… he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent… but born of God.”
We are not only born through human lineage.
We are born of God.
This means our identity is no longer defined only by the flesh, but by the Spirit.
Jesus Christ made us brothers and sisters through the Holy Spirit.
–The DNA That Unites Us

When we receive Jesus Christ, something powerful happens.
1 Corinthians 12:13 says:
“For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body… and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.”
The Spirit in you is the same Spirit in me.
If we have truly received Jesus Christ, then we carry the same Spirit.
This is the DNA that unites us.
Not culture.
Not background.
Not agreement on everything.
But the Holy Spirit.
–One Body, One Spirit, One Family
Ephesians 4:4–6 says:
“There is one body and one Spirit… one God and Father of all.”
We are not connected because we look the same, think the same, or come from the same place.
We are connected because we have the same Spirit.
And this connection is eternal.
Because the DNA of the flesh is temporary…
but the DNA of the Spirit will live forever.
–Are We Reversing the Work of the Holy Spirit?

There is something serious we must face.
We may be doing something dangerous without realizing it.
We may be reversing the work of the Holy Spirit.
God, through the Holy Spirit, brings people into the church so their lives can be changed.
He is the one who:
- convicts
- touches hearts
- draws people
- leads them to receive Him
During worship, during services, people are touched by God.
They experience His love.
They make the decision to follow Him.
They come into the church excited.
They are happy to have found a new family.
They are expecting love—because they just experienced the pure love of the Father.
–When They See Us

But when they begin to observe us…
How we live.
How we treat one another.
How we speak.
How we behave outside the church…
Something changes.
They become discouraged.
Some of them even backslide.
Why?
Because what they expected to find in us…
they did not find it.
And in that moment, without realizing it, we begin to reverse the work of the Holy Spirit.
And the truth is—we will be held accountable for this.
–A Revealing Example: When a Brother or Sister Falls
If you want to understand where we stand as believers, look at what happens when someone falls.
When a pastor, a preacher, or a fellow believer falls into sin…
What do we do?
Do we go on our knees to pray?
Or do we go on social media to search?
If we are honest, sometimes we find ourselves reading, following, and even being drawn to the story.
We keep checking updates.
We want to know more.
And even if we don’t say it, something inside us is attracted to it.
But that reveals something.
–Check Your Heart
When you hear that a brother or sister has fallen, ask yourself:
Do I feel pain?
Do I feel broken?
Do I want to pray?
Or do I feel curious?
Do I want to read more?
Do I talk about it?
That moment reveals whether the love of Christ is truly in us.
–What We Were Supposed to Do

We were supposed to feel pain.
We were supposed to feel compassion.
We were supposed to go on our knees and pray for restoration.
Not to enjoy the story.
Not to follow it like news.
But to stand for our brothers and sisters.
Instead of saying, “Look at them…”
we should be saying, “Lord, restore them.”
Because they are not strangers.
They are part of the same body.
–Why People Are Walking Away
People are watching us.
They come into the church and experience God.
But when they look at us outside…
They see:
- division
- jealousy
- lack of love
- lack of unity
And it pushes them away.
Not because the Gospel is weak…
but because our lifestyle does not reflect it.
We are not losing people because we cannot preach.
We are losing people because love is missing.
–We Forgot What Connects Us

We forgot something important.
We are one body.
The same Holy Spirit working in one person
is the same Holy Spirit working in another.
We are not in competition.
We are connected by spiritual DNA.
Conclusion: A Connection That Will Never End
The DNA of the flesh will come to an end.
But the DNA of the Spirit will live forever.
That is why what connects us in Christ is stronger than blood.
It is eternal.
And when we truly understand this, we will love differently, live differently, and treat one another differently.
Because we will realize:
We are not just connected by life…
We are connected by the Spirit of God.
GOD BLESS YOU
