Are you trusting people or God? Psalm 20:7 reminds us that true security is found in the name of the Lord, not in human connections or influence.Trust in God not people

Trust in God not people
PSALM 20:7 (NIV)
“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.”
–WHEN LIFE BECOMES UNCERTAIN
In life, there are seasons when everything feels uncertain.
You may find yourself in a difficult situation, facing challenges that seem beyond your control. In those moments, it is natural to look for help and solutions.
And many times, that is when we begin to look at people.
–THE TENDENCY TO TRUST PEOPLE

When life becomes hard, we often turn to what we can see.
We begin to look for connections, influential individuals, family members, or anyone in a position to help us. We believe that if the right person steps in, everything can change.
We look at what they have and assume they can secure our future.
And the truth is, many of us have been there.
At some point, we have trusted people, believing they could rescue us or open doors for us.
–THE PROBLEM WITH TRUSTING PEOPLE
But here is the reality we must understand:
People can fail.
Not always because they want to, but because they are human.
Positions can change.
Influence can fade.
Opportunities can disappear.
Doors can suddenly close.
What once felt secure can become uncertain in a moment.
And when your trust is built on people, your peace becomes unstable.
–WHY TRUSTING GOD CHANGES EVERYTHING
Psalm 20:7 gives us a different perspective.
While others trust in human strength and visible resources, we are called to trust in the name of the LORD our God.
When you trust in God:
- You are trusting someone who never fails
- You are depending on someone who never changes
- You are relying on someone who is always faithful
God is not limited by position, influence, or circumstances.
What people cannot do, God can do.
What people may delay, God can accomplish in His perfect timing.
–GOD IS YOUR SOURCE, NOT PEOPLE

This does not mean people cannot help you.
They can.
But they are not the source.
God is your source.
People are only instruments.
When you understand this, your heart becomes steady—because your trust is no longer in something temporary, but in someone eternal.
–A MOMENT OF REFLECTION
Take a moment today and ask yourself:
Where have I been placing my trust?
In people?
In connections?
In positions?
Or in God?
FINAL ENCOURAGEMENT

Do not put your hope in people.
Do not build your confidence on connections.
Put your trust in the name of the LORD.
Because when everything else fails,
God remains faithful.
–REFLECTION QUESTION
Who are you trusting today?
